The King of Romance returns with a new book, and we just know it's going to be a heartbreaker. See Me, tells the story of Colin Hancock bad-boy-turned-good - sound familiar? Like all of Sparks' novels we follow two individuals whose relationship is tested when their past comes back to haunt them.
Remember John and Savannah in Dear John? They went to hell and back when John re-enlisted in the armed forces. Then there was Katy and Alex in Safe Haven. When Katy moved to a small town to escape her abusive husband she ended up falling for the general store owner - cue plenty of drama and romance.
Over the years Sparks has sold over 100 million books worldwide. He's renowned for stories of heartache, death and endless love. You may not have read one of Sparks' eighteen novels, but you've definitely seen one of the blockbuster film adaptations. Leading men such as Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum and Liam Hemsworth got their big breaks thanks to these epic romances - if we haven't thanked Nicholas Sparks before, we're definitely thanking him now.
As well as a new book, it's just been announced that the King of Romance has signed a deal with ABC to write a television show - never has there been a better time to stock up on Kleenex. The show will be loosely based around Sparks' personal life, divorce and 'learning to love again'.
Here's Marie Claire's pick of the best Nicholas Sparks tear-jerking moments so far - if you're not left sobbing, there's something wrong with you.

Safe Haven
Starring Julianne Hough, Josh Duhamel and Cobie Smulders.
Safe Haven follows a slightly different theme than usual. Katie (Julianne Hough) is on the run from her abusive husband (who just happens to be a detective). When she arrives at a small town she meets Alex (Josh Duhamel), a widowed father of two young children. This thriller romance leaves us heartbroken at the fact we can?t all run away and start a dream life with Josh Duhamel *sad face*.
Kleenex Rating: 1/5
The Longest Ride
Starring Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood.
The Longest Ride is the 10th and latest Sparks film to hit the silver screen, 17 years after Message in a Bottle. This novel has everything from cowboys to heartache ? sounds like a Taylor Swift song! With Scott Eastwood in the starring role it?s no wonder this film did well.
Kleenex Rating: 2/5
The Lucky One
Starring Zac Efron and Logan Thibault
When a U.S. Marine finds a photograph of a young woman while serving in Iraq, his lucky charm will soon become his other half. PRAISE: The film that made Zac Efron go from child star to leading man.
Kleenex Rating: 3/5
Dear John
Starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum.
Dear John is one of the more popular adaptations ? if the topless Channing Tatum didn?t give it away. A summer romance blossoms into love, but can it last when John (Channing Tatum) is deployed into action. Love letters, war, and a dreamy Channing makes this one of our faves.
Kleenex Rating: 3/5
Message in a Bottle
Starring Kevin Costner, Robin Wright, and Paul Newman.
Message in a Bottle was the first of Sparks? novels to hit the big screen and we still haven?t recovered! Theresa (Robin Wright) discovers a love letter in a bottle (yes it gets more romantic), later she decides to track down the man who wrote the letters (Kevin Costner). The two meet and fall in love - of course, but lies tear the couple apart. Sadly in true Sparks fashion someone dies, but at least all lies are forgiven.
Kleenex Rating: 3/5
Nights in Rodanthe
Starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
Adrienne (Diane Lane) and Paul (Richard Gere) meet on a chance weekend in Rodanthe, both battling their own demons they begin to bond over fine food and wine (we?ve all been there). With love letters, separations and a final goodbye, you?ll be crying a river all the way to North Carolina.
Kleenex Rating: 3/5
The Best of Me
Starring James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan with Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato.
The Best of Me takes us on a journey through Dawson and Amanda?s whirlwind romance. From meeting in high school and falling in love, to being separated for years after the sudden death of a close friend. The reunion is sadly bitter sweet as death looms over most of Sparks? endings. Waterworks are guaranteed.
Kleenex Rating: 3/5
The Last Song
Starring Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, and Greg Kinnear.
The Last Song definitely hits a nerve, partly for taking us on an emotional rollercoaster of love and loss, but mostly because Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth got together on the set of this summer blockbuster ? guaranteed it was never going to last, but for a split second we believed Sparks' magic could transcend fiction.
Kleenex Rating: 4/5
A Walk to Remember
Starring Shane West, Mandy Moore, Peter Coyote, and Daryl Hannah.
Popular bad-boy Landon (Shane West) falls for Jamie (Mandy Moore), a smart awkward teen after they participate in the school play ? despite this story sounding very High School Musical, A Walk to Remember is about Jamie?s battle with cancer, and Landon coming to terms with her impending death. Sparks shows us it?s never too late to fall in love *sob*.
Kleenex Rating: 4/5
The Notebook
Starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.
Everyone has heard of The Notebook ? FACT. Along with Titanic it?s the one story that will leave you shedding a tear hours after you?ve finished watching. There is nothing worse than losing the ones you love, or so we thought. The film stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, the dreamy pair truly bring Sparks? novel to life. WARNING: Even waterproof mascara won?t save you.
