‘I’ve spent a lot of time practicing and perfecting my eye make-up. Illamasqua Liquid Eye Liner, £16, is really easy to apply so I wear that most of the time now, but when I use pencil I have the best trick – I stroke MAC Eye Kohl in Smoulder. £13, along my upper lids next to my lashes, and then use a flat brush to blend it into a straight line.’

Megan Fox
'My definition of beauty is simplicity, elegance and sensuality. Ava Gardner is my beauty icon. I think that when a woman is in harmony with herself and remains true to her values, she will glow naturally. Femininity doesn't depend on what you wear or how you look. It's an attitude.'

Georgia Jagger
'My sister Lizzie and I have inherited our mum's love of a red lip- all three of us wear it as our fail-safe evening look. A good tip I picked up is to put some clear lip balm on your teeth to stop the lipstick coming off on them.'

Diane Von Furstenberg
'I used to do anything to try to straighten my curly hair (including using an iron on it!). Then once I did a shoot with wet hair and as it was drying, they carried on taking pictures. Seeing the shots afterwards I finally realised 'this is me'. Now I embrace my curls and use Bumble and Bumble shampoo and MoroccanOil to keep my hair in good condition. '

Scarlett Johansson
'If my skin is dull or I have red spots before a big event, I sweep raw lemon over it, to make it brighter. It stings a bit, but it's not at all harming- it's my favourite thing. I also add lemon to drinking water. Try it and you'll be amazed at the instant glow it gives you.'

Dakota Fanning
'I think I'd look alien with a spray tan. I like my skin the way it is, as it feels like me, so it's not something I'd want to try out- unless it was for a role. I'd worry that I'm so pale, it would never come off!'

Liv Tyler
'I rub perfume on to my fingers and put it behind my ears, behind my knees, on my belly button and the balls of my feet, so when I take my shoes off somewhere my feet smell nice. This new fragrance Givenchy Very Irresistible L'Intense EDP, £39.75 has vivid, sensual notes of musk and patchouli, which work well with body heat.'

Kylie Minogue
'For work, body make-up is essential- I don't think there will be a day when a make-up artist doesn't have MAC Face and Body [Foundation, £25.50] in their kit for me. Before I go on stage I'm completely blasted with gold. I must have ingested so much glitter on my last tour. I love Model Co's [Shimmer Airbrush Illiminiser, £15] as it's a subtle shimmer that smells of being in St Tropez.'

Christina Aguilera
'Being a mother hasn't changed my beauty regime. My profession is about expressing myself as an artist. As a painter I wouldn't stop painting just because I've had a child and that goes for painting my face too.'

Cheryl Cole
'I swear by washing my make-up off and moisturising before bedtime, as this is when skin rejuvenates. I use E45 Cream, £2.19, and Vaseline Lip Therapy, £1.99. I'm not interested in Botox. I don't judge others but it's not for me.'
