Hillary Clinton opens up lead over Barak Obama in Democrat presidential race
HILLARY CLINTON LOOKS set to be the Democrat’s next presidential candidate after opening up an impressive 33-point lead over her nearest rival, Barak Obama.
The former First Lady has the support of 53 % of Democrats, according to the latest poll, despite a rather personal campaign against her, which this week saw opponents deride her laugh and coin the phrase the ‘Clinton cackle’.
The reversal of fortunes for Hillary is put down to a strengthening within her core voter groups of women and committed Democrats, as well as a surge in support from male voters.
She is also leading the money race, having raised more campaigning funds than both Obama and John Edwards, and can look forward to extra ‘momentum money’ as donors line up to support the expected winner.
