After the wettest April on record, the sun is finally here and looks set to stay - for the weekend at least
British weather is temperamental at the best of times with the April washout and recent cold spell but summer is set to stay for the weekend.
As the mercury reached 25C, yesterday saw the hottest day of the year so far as Britons dared to debut their summer wardrobes.
And today should be even warmer with temperature expected to hit 28C and the Met Office announcing the summer weather will remain until after the weekend.
However, as Britons bask in the sunshine, filling parks and busy seafronts, the Met Office says southern areas are likely to become unsettled again next week, dampening the Jubilee Weekend.
But for now rest assured, we can reacquaint ourselves with our shorts, shades and summer dresses and enjoy the British sunshine.
