Pixar’s New Film Is A Comedy-Fuelled Emotional Rollercoaster

Pixar's new film, Inside Out, stars Mindy Kaling and Amy Poehler

Pixar’s got a new film, but don’t expect princesses or a fairytale ending. Instead, expect hilarity from some of our favourite comediennes.

Inside Out, a new film, directed by Peter Docter (Up, Monsters Inc.) is about an 11-year-old-girl who learns about how her emotions affect her decisions in life.

Riley is guided by her emotions, played by Amy Poehler (Joy), Bill Hader (Fear), Lewis Black (Anger), Mindy Kaling (Disgust) and Phyllis Smith (Sadness). The film is mostly set inside Riley’s mind (AKA Headquarters), where her emotions start causing conflict after she is forced to move from the slow-paced midwestern United States to the hustling and bustling city of San Francisco.

Kaling once wrote, ‘Everyone has a moment when they discover they love Amy Poehler.’ With the two brilliant comediennes butting heads, the new film is sure to be a comedic success as well as a clever twist on the classic coming of age story.

Inside Out will hit cinemas in June, 2015.
