The Duchess’ dress fell victim to a gust of wind while she attended a friend’s wedding over the weekend
Kate Middleton is well versed in dressing for the unpredictable British weather but when winds are forecast not even royalty are exempt from a fashion faux pas as the Duchess of Cambridge discovered over the weekend.
While at a friend’s wedding in Oxfordshire a sudden gust of wind caught Kate Middleton’s Topshop dress and saw the hem fly up creating a mini Marilyn Monroe moment made infamous by the film The Seven Year Itch.
Naturally the Duchess wasn’t the least bit fazed by the mishap with the Daily Express reporting she ‘maintained her modesty’ by holding onto her dress with one hand and hat in the other ‘smiling all the way’.
Prince William joined his wife at the nuptials of William van Cutsem and Rosie Ruck Keene on Saturday where the expectant mother performed her latest style rerun wearing the polka dot dress she formerly wore for a visit to the Harry Potter studios last month.
The weekend wasn’t the first time Kate Middleton has seen her dress fly up by an unexpected breeze, during her Jubilee tour last September her floral print dress ballooned and rose up on runway at Brisbane Airport.
Ever the pro, Duchess Kate reacted with ease on both occasions keeping her dress, and dignity, in check.
