MAC and non-profit organisation mothers2mothers team up for a night of fundraising.

Aside from making up a large portion of our make-up bag, MAC are well known for their M.A.C AIDS Fund with big names, such as Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga joining them in their campaigns. If raising millions exclusively through sales of their MAC VIVA GLAM Lipsticks and Lipglass wasn’t enough, this month they supported the mothers2mothers (m2m) gala event celebrating 15-years of charitable work.

Annie Lennox and mothers2mothers Mentor Mother Nalumu Vivien Juliet

If you’re unfamiliar with the organisation; m2m is an inspiring and totally amazing non-profit African-based charity that is at the forefront of global efforts to eradicate paediatric AIDS. Their goal is to create healthy futures for mothers, their families, and communities and much of their success is down to mothers working as mentors in health centres in Africa. This wonderful organistion, and generous mothers, are helping to eliminate transmission of HIV from mothers to their babies while also helping to make HIV treatment more affordable. And if that’s not inspiring I don’t know what is.

The Saturday's Mollie King places a bid

The fundraising gala was held at the One Marylebone, London and co-hosted by music legend and longstanding activist, Annie Lennox. Guests sipped their healthy fruit shots and listened to Annie Lennox speak of her longstanding involvement with m2m. Lennox went onto wow the star-studded crowd with her greatest hits, including a serenade from our fave, ‘Sweet Dreams’.

Hugh Bonneville takes to the stage

Guests dug deep and raised over half a million pound with a silent, all tech, iPad auction (welcome to the future!). With exclusive donated items such as Gibson guitars, signed by artists such as Coldplay, Sting and Ed Sheeran up for grabs.

Mother to four, Victoria Beckham generously donated items from her oh-so-covetable pre-Spring/Summer 2016 Ready to Wear collection. Having visited the programme in South Africa, she spoke of her passion for m2m. She has seen for herself what amazing work the charity does.

DJ Jack Guinness on the decks

The man of the hour drop dead gorgeous, Jack Guinness, (swoon) took to the stage to DJ the after party, followed by a final resounding Lennox performance. Plus, guests left with a bag full of MAC goodies. What a night!
