Hollywood Scientologist slams church

Marie Claire News: Jason Beghe imdb.com

A former friend of Tom Cruise and long-term member of the Church of Scientology has slammed the controversial religion in an online video rant.

Jason Beghe, who has starred in shows like CSI and Melrose Place, says 'Scientology is destructive and a rip-off'.

As a member of the international group for 13 years, Beghe made his way to the hallowed OT5 level of members, which also includes Cruise and John Travolta, but he has now turned his back on them, warning: 'The further up the bridge, the worse you get.'

In the three-minute clip, which has been posted on YouTube, he adds: 'I don't have an agenda. I'm just trying to help. I have the luxury of having gotten into Scientology and after having been in it, been out. And that's a perspective that people who are still in and not out do not have.'

A rep for Scientology tells Page Six: 'There are millions of Scientologists around the world who will tell you of their daily wins in applying Scientology in their lives. One need only visit www.scientology.org to see this for yourself.'

There are NOT millions of scientologists. The church representative is lying. Just more propaganda to distract from the serious statements made by actor Jason Beghe.

I'm a Scientology lapdog.

"A rep for Scientology tells Page Six: 'There are millions of Scientologists around the world who will tell you of their daily wins in applying Scientology in their lives. One need only visit www.scientology.org to see this for yourself.'"

Yeah go to their website to get the real info....yeah don't ask a guy who is OT5 and is telling you it's destructive and a rip-off.

Hell yeah Beghe! another epic win!

oh don't miss Jenna Miscavige Hill (niece of the cult leader) on ABC Nightline tonight. = another win!

The full interview is FANTASTIC! But if you're just looking for a taste and don't want to sit through a full 2 hours, a 9-minute highlight reel has been put together and posted at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDvxrMmR3jA

But I think after watching the 9-minute video, most people will then want to see the whole thing.

Props to you, Harry. You know much and are brave enough to take a name.

To the Co$ AND to my fellow faceless brethren: I'll see you May 10th on the steps of the Church of Scientology. Bring delicious cake.

This is exactly what needs to happen. For years Scientology has been showcasing the celebrity members, parading them around with their big grins and claiming that Scientology gave them their success. What has happened? One of these celebrities actually has the courage to say "no, hold on a minute" and actually tell the truth about what Scientology actually is, and not just the pre-written line that comes straight out of the sales-book.

The reasons why, at least I believe, that celebrities stay in and don't speak out is for a few reasons, but I'd say it's shame. They probably find some enjoyment in it, holding onto cans doing an e-meter test and just talking about their problems. I find that a fine experience myself, except I do away with the pointless gizmo and just talk. However, these celebrities can not come out, especially after being in for so long, and say "This is a scam." It'd ruin them and their careers if the truth got out and they had done nothing about it when they were in. Of course, Scientology will keep its celebrities away from the rank and file members, the true sufferers who take out loans to pay for these life-saving yet expensive courses, go through hours of mental tests and exercises unprepared, effectivly damaging them. They use outdated, ineffective methods stolen and adapted by the crack-pot insane L. Ron Hubbard without any concern or research.

I, personally, applaud this Jason Beghe. I can not honestly say I have heard of him before today (I guess Scientology didn't give him *that* much of a successful career), but he does have my respect for damning this irresponsible cult of greed.

Scientology is a vicious cult and a criminal racket. It is not what they want you to think it is. Here is a sample of Scientology's craziness:

"For instance, the historic Jesus was not nearly the sainted figure has been made out to be. In addition to being a lover of young boys and men, he was given to uncontrollable bursts of temper and hatred that belied the general message of love, understanding and other typical Marcab PR." -- L. Ron Hubbard, HCO BULLETIN OF 5 MAY 1980.

Although the Scientologist rep SAYS there are millions, the fact of the matter is that that there are thousands (approx. 60,000). As to what those who have actually been in the criminal cult of scientology say, all one has to do is check out:

And for more on the murders, brainwashing, fraud, forgery, harrassment, people being followed and etc committed by scientology:

Well done Jason Beghe for speaking out! It's important that people understand more about this dangerous criminal cult that operates behind the superficial veneer of celebrity.

It's a miracle he did speak out really - the cult keeps files on you so that if you do try to leave, they can blackmail and threaten you with complete ruin. Previous critics have turned up dead in some cases.

Checking out this guy's work shows he's actually pretty damn good too! Better than Tom Cruise - a man so wooden he could be sponsored by Kuprinol.
Comment by Anne on April 23 14:27

Jason says he is only an acquaintance of Tom Cruise, have studied with him and shared the same waiting room and counselor, one going in before or after the other.

Scientology is desperate, paying millions for advertising and the chance to refute this
damaging information. The Kimora Lee pop ups on some news site pages where there are critical articles is very amusing. It's a losing battle.

Watch the full interview , which is out now. It stings of reality and the 'church' is not happy about it one bit.

I am glad to see someone has the guts to speak out against this dangerous cult.
Comment by terryeo on April 23 13:21

The last sentence is the stock answer any alien cult would give. Their website is nothing but a long infomercial. When you're done you'll be the proud owner of revolutionary steak knives, powerful oxy cleaners, and a rotisserie that doubles as a dishwasher. But Don't wait! call now and they'll double your order if you take a small personality test.

Brainwashing and Bankruptcy guaranteed!

NOT $100,000
NOT $200,000

ONLY $350,000+ (US)

You can watch the 3 minute teaser on youtube at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZvmvlZM1gw

The full 2hour interview is up at http://xenutv.wordpress.com/2008/04/21/jason-beghe-interview/

Jason Beghe is very brave to tell the truth about his experiences in the organization. Scientology has a policy called "fair game" where they attack anyone who criticizes Scientology, the most extreme case being the campaign to frame writer Paulette Cooper in a criminal Scientology plan known as "Operation Freakout."
Comment by Brian Thompson on April 23 12:36

Do journalist's even bother to find out anything?

Beghe doesn't say or claim to be a former friend of Mr Cruise. They shared some of the resources of the cult.

The full Jason Beghe interview is now available here: http://xenutv.wordpress.com/
Also, the CoS loves to tell people about how great it is... however, they fail to mention that it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, that their tactics induce mental breakdowns so they can "reconstruct" you, that they have child labour camps and coherce abortions so that women continue to be productive at "work". Just a few of the things that are terribly wrong with the Church of Scientology... not that the religious belief is any bad, FreeZone is a great alternative.

Comment by Sponge on April 23 09:52

This 3 minute interview was just the "teaser". There's a much, much longer interview with many juicy details at http://xenutv.wordpress.com/

The Church of Scientology is a weird mix between a brainwashing cult and a pyramid scheme. You can find out about ongoing protests against their human rights abuses of their members and critics at www.enturbulation.org.

The next global protest against the "Church" and it's criminal behaviour is on 10th May, and is called "Fair Game STOP". It is calling for an end to their aggressive, intimidating harassment of anyone who dares criticise the "Church".
