Well that’s one way to steal the show at the Oscars

Sure, everyone likes to make a bold fashion statement at the Oscars, but Edwina Bartholomew - a presenter on Australia’s Sunrise, wasn’t expecting to send the internet into overdrive with people commenting that her dress ‘looks like a vagina.’

Huh?

Bear with us.

Reporting live from the red carpet, Edwina posted a picture of her ice blue Rachel Gilbert gown, with the comment: ‘Channelling Elsa form Frozen in @rachelgilbertau #sun7 #oscars’

Do you see the vagina?

The rest of the world sure did, and quickly flooded her social networks with comments like: ‘Nice. But why is there a uterus on your dress?’, ‘Lose the Vajayjay and it would be perfect’, and 'Your face and body are to die for.... But, sorry, the thing on the dress looks like a part of a female anatomy. I know I am not the only person thinking this....'

And the commenters were right, they weren't the only people thinking this, as Edwina did too.

Appearing on Kyle and Jackie O, she admitted that her producer had pointed out that she looked like she was wearing a reproductive organ before she went on air.

'He said "it looks like a vagina". I did think it was going to happen, (that someone would say it) but I got through the whole day and no one said it… I did think that they might call it ‘the vagina dress’ but I still wore it anyway!’

Get ready for her best line… ‘I wish I had an icy blue silk vagina!’

Oh don’t we all, Edwina.

Despite wearing a vagina, the presenter also received a lot of support and compliments, with E!News host Guilliana Rancic leading the way.

'It was not the first thing that came to my mind, everyone saying that.

'She is very pretty, she has a beautiful body. The dress fits her very well. Never in a million years would she have thought that.'
