The NYFW bags that are making me dream of Spring
If you were wondering which designer handbags to invest in next season, then you'll be pleased to hear the New York Fashion Week runway has given plenty of inspiration.
So, which bag trends can we expect to see for spring/summer 2019? Well, if, like me, you're a big fan of cute bags, you'll be pleased to hear the trend isn't going anywhere, in fact, it's gaining momentum.
At Oscar de la Renta, models carried micro bags aplenty, from tasseled orbs to adorable mini birdcages, while you'll be lucky to fit in an iPhone XS in the tiny box bags at Brandon Maxwell or Zimmermann, though of course that's not the point.
But if you're not fan of the micro bag, then the oversized is for you. Proenza Schouler had bags big enough to fit your entire life and then some.
Cushnie, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Coach all carried on championing the Western trend with fringes and tassels to go with those faux snake print boots you'll be investing in this winter.
For something a little more feminine, look to Marc Jacobs, Mansur Gavriel and Kate Spade for ladylike bags with serious 50s pastel vibes.

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.
Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).
Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.
However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.
Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
