This is a Marie Claire Advertorial Ever since we spotted the layers of velvet embroideries and deep hued frocks embellished with sequins being sent down the Autumn Winter 15 runway at Thakoon, along with ruffle necklines and gold brocade at Chanel, we've become a little bit obsessed with the Gothic romance trend.

Not sure how to pull it off? Pad out your winter wardrobe with chic black separates and turn to historically rich fabrics like velvet and lace to really amp up your look.

You'll find gorgeous pieces from Tu at Sainsbury's new Midnight Collection – it's packed with wearable, work-appropriate pieces that look designer but don't carry the same hefty price tag! Result.

Our favourite piece? It's got to be the intricate lace kimono draped over a simple camisole top, worn with this season's must-have velvet cigarette trousers and gem-encrusted ballet pumps for a part-gothic, part-fairytale look.

You don't have to dress head-to-toe in black to nail this trend, although that's undeniably a strong look for winter. Mix Medieval-inspired colours like ruby red and gold, along with heavily embellished knits, to nod to heroic knights and sleeping beauties. Don't forget to tap into winter's beauty looks, too – a barely-there base, perfectly primed brows and berry lips will earn even more style points.

As well as lots of killer black pieces, you'll find rich hues of burgundy, moody winter florals and chainmail textures for an armory touch in the gorgeous Midnight Collection from Tu at Sainsbury's. Expect to find lots of metallic denim too; set to be a hot trend for AW15 and just in time for party season too!

What are you waiting for? Check out the new Midnight collection for yourself, it's available from the 17th November online and at selected Sainsbury's stores. Visit
