Gigi fires up the runway with her last TommyNow show

Tommy Hilfiger and Gigi Hadid never do things by halves do they? For their last show together at Milan Fashion Week, they turned the runway at Milano Congressi into a racetrack - as you do.

The Spring 2018 TOMMYNOW experiential event fused fashion with motor racing activations, celebrating the designer's partnership with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport.

'There were race cars on the catwalk and makeshift drivers in helmets and boiler suits! It was Gigi’s final collection with Tommy and she opened and closed the show. Bella followed in the second look and their brother Anwar was also in it. Lewis Hamilton was frow and Winnie Harlow and Hailey Baldwin also walked,' comments Fashion Features Director Jess Wood.

The Tommy Drive collection itself was a tribute to Tommy’s longtime love of racing, fusing American heritage with modern athleticism for him and her. Think unique plays on proportion and shape, unexpected twists on classics and graphic interpretations of speed stripes, checkerboard and archival logos.

As with previous seasons, the SS18 show had the signature 'See Now, Buy Now' format, and all Tommy Drive runway looks are available to buy across an ecosystem of immediately shoppable channels in more than 70 countries.

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
