eBay reveals its top ten fashion brands

With the ongoing trend for mixing designer labels with vintage and high street finds, searching eBay for that unique bargain continues to be a popular pursuit for fashionistas.

Now eBay has revealed its top ten searched for fashion brands across the American branch of the site, and the designer brands seem to rule.

The figures monitored over a seven-day period may come as a surprise to us Brits, as number one is a brand that is certainly not a household name in the UK. Luxury leather company Coach was the top choice for American searchers, keen for their popular bags and wallets.

The universally desired Gucci and Prada come in at numbers two and three, where accessories for both are particularly popular, and the designer bargain hunt does not stop there. Number five is celebrity tracksuit favourite Juicy Couture, followed closely by Burberry at number seven and Marc Jacobs at number nine.

The list is not without its high street brands though. Abercrombie & Fitch is at number four; with its younger sister brand Hollister at number six. Sports brand Nike comes in at eight, bolstered by trainer fans looking for those must-have limited edition pairs.

Last of all, at number ten is relatively unknown label Bebe. Showing the power of the celebrity, this small label has grown hugely in popularity since Mischa Barton, Eva Longoria and Rebecca Romijn have all starred in the brand's advertising campaigns.

Commenting on the figures to WWD, eBay style director Constance White revealed, 'Everybody loves a bargain, but eBay is taking advantage of this trend, where even the chicest people are now wearing $30 tops and carrying $800 handbags.'
