After a manic year, our December cover girl is taking a much deserved Christmas break at home. So she won't be visiting family? 'Newcastle comes to me!' she cries, in that unmistakable Geordie accent. '[If I go there] I have to go to ten different houses so I think it's only fair that we all travel once and meet at the one place. After the year I've had - I've been working like a crazy person - running around the country and doing acrobats on stage [they] can come to me, it's only one drive away, I'm not doing 25 drives to see everybody!'
It'll be turkey with all the trimmings at chez Fernandez-Versini. Not to mention a very low-key dress code. 'I love Christmas dinner,' enthuses Cheryl. 'I love just chilling and putting on my pyjamas. I always have new pyjamas and new slippers and I love new smellies.'
And the secret weapon? It's all about festive fragrance to create the right amount of ambience. 'I love it when you come home and it just smells like Christmas with the Christmas tree and the pine candles...'
Here's wishing you a good one, Cheryl!
