Singer tops 2012 Billboard Money Makers Poll after raking in £22 million in one year

Taylor Swift has been crowned the highest paid musician in the world after raking in an impressive £22million in one year alone.

The 22-year-old country singer has topped Billboard Magazine's Music Money Makers' List after amassing an impressive fortune from album and single sales plus a sell-out US tour.

In second place on the prestigious list were rockers U2 who netted £20million, while country singer Kenny Chesney took third place with earnings of £19million.

Last year's highest earner Lady Gaga now resides at fourth place with an annual income of £16million and rapper Lil Wayne rounded up the top five with £14million.
