  • Chery Cole wows at Brit nominations as Duffy receives four nods

When it came to the Brit Award nominations last night, Duffy was the clear star of the evening as she was named in four categories: Best Female Solo Artist, Best Breakthrough Act, Best Single and Best Album.

But if we’re talking about who stole the style show, the clear winner has got to be Cheryl Cole.

The Girl Aloud rocked up to the event with bandmate Kimberly Walsh – who also looked stunning – in a midriff-baring, cropped grey T-shirt and white miniskirt with a statement black sash belt.

She finished her look with sexy zebra-print heels.

So, Cheryl’s washboard stomach aside, what were the other highlights of the evening?

Girls Aloud have been nominated for two awards at this year’s show – Best Single for The Promise and Best British Group.

X Factor winners Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke will battle it out in the Best British Single category.

Fearne Cotton, who hosted the nominations event at the Round House in Camden, also announced that Adele is up for three gongs: Best British Female (alongside Estelle and Duffy), British Breakthrough Act and Best Single for Chasing Pavements.

Coldplay also received four nominations, to add to their seven at next month’s American Grammy Awards.

The Brit Awards will be hosted by Kylie Minogue and James Corden on 18 February at Earls Court.

Among the stars performing are Girls Aloud, U2, Kings of Leon and Duffy.
