But putting it into practice is another thing completely. However, Marie Claire is here to help! We have signed up six amazing women from fields including media, TV, food and fashion to mentor six lucky readers over the next few months.

Our first mentor is beauty entrepreneur Maleka Dattu, founder of Merumaya Integrative Effective Skincare®. 'I was on holiday in South Africa when I had my wake-up moment', she says, 'knowing that if I just didn't go ahead and do it, I never would.'

An expert in beauty, Dattu worked at Clinique and Origines and was in a senior corporate role at Lancôme when she took the plunge. 'There were huge challenges along the way and it was a learning curve doing everything myself, such as learning about the best packaging and search engine optimisation (SEO). But the hard work paid off and it feels amazing to have achieved my dream'.
