From October 29th the clocks will go back to mark the end of British Summer Time. There will be less sunlight and the days will get shorter. Bad thing, right? Wrong. With the nights settling in earlier this leaves more time to enjoy the twinkling City skyline from arguably the best view in London.

Located on top of the 10th floor of the Montcalm Royal London House Hotel in Finsbury Square, The Aviary Rooftop Restaurant and Terrace Bar takes dining to new levels – literally. Cocktails with the girls, date night with bae or a birthday brunch – it has all.

Positioned between hipster Shoreditch and the sleek City, the rooftop destination strikes the perfect balance between opulence and cool. Neither pretentious or cold, the glamorous copper and cream interiors, plush seats and an elegant bar at the centre of the restaurant make you feel as if you’ve been transported to a Bond film.

It’s definitely a contender for the most instagrammable venues in London and as host of our Verified Party we know from experience that you will find yourself taking styling tips for your own home #interiorgoals.

And that’s not to say it’s style over substance. The menu serves all the classics with a modern twist. Our pick? The flourless chocolate cake with clotted cream and Bulleit bourbon caramel. These desserts aren’t for sharing!

The cocktail menu is designed to reflect how you feel. Floral and elegant? There’s a cocktail for that. Fancy sharing? There’s a cocktail for that. Deep and dirty? Yes you guessed it, there’s a cocktail for it.

And speaking of that… if you want a cool vibe we’d suggest going after work on a Thursday, either with the one or perhaps to find ‘the one’ –  trust us, there will be loads of hunky men.

So go on – enjoy one of the best views in London we’ve ever seen. Take in the Shard, the Walkie Talkie and the Gherkin and a few cocktails, of course.

And if you’re slightly adverse to heights, never fear. There’s another bar on the ground floor of the hotel – and they have shuffleboard. Shuffleboard – you can’t argue with that.
