And they're not actually at festivals!

The silent disco phenomenon became increasingly popular around 2005 when festivals like Glastonbury used them as a way of keeping the party going late into the night, without fear of breaking their noise restrictions. However the concept is no longer just reserved for tents in muddy fields and prancing about in your wellies, events around the country have latched onto the craze as a way of providing unforgettable musical experiences for guests - you can even rent out a silent disco for your own house party!

So what are our favourite ones to check out for the rest of the year?

Silent Disco at the View From the Shard

Where? Level 69 of the tallest building in Europe! When? Most Saturdays until the 31st October 2015; 10pm – 2am How Much? £37.50 Why is this event so cool? If dancing with a 360 degree view of London isn’t enough, you also have the opportunity to venture to Level 72’s open-air viewing gallery!

    Lates at the Science Museum

Where? Science Museum, Exhibition Rd, London, SW7 2DD When? The next events are 26th August, 30th September, 28th October and 25th November; 6.45pm – 10pm How Much? FREE, but you’ve got to be over 18. Why is this event so cool? You get to be a big kid again and run riot in one of the best, interactive museums. Plus there are different themes including childhood, cravings, Ada Lovelace and maths (fancy dress optional). And it’s not just a silent disco, there’s loads of other activities and events to get involved in.

    Retro Silent Disco

Where? BackDoor Club, Richmond Street, Manchester, M1 3HZ When? First Friday of every month How Much? £5 on the door Why is this event so cool? They play the best of the 70s, 80s and 90s and host really cool events such as the ‘80s Girls on Film’ night.

Silent Disco on the Cutty Sark

Where? Cutty Sark Clipper Ship, King William Walk, London, SE10 9HT When? The next events are on 2nd October and 4th December How Much? £29.99 Why is this event so cool? Because it’s pretty amazing to say you’ve partied on the deck of one of London’s most historical landmarks!

    Music Cube

Where? Westfield Stratford City, E20 1EG and Westfield London, W12 7GF When? 28 - 31st August and 6-8th November 2015 respectively. How Much? FREE, but you have to apply via the Westfield website for tickets. Why is this event so cool? It's a pop-up live music festival where bands, artists and DJs perform in a soundproof glass cube that only guests with tickets can hear through their headphones!
