It's all about a Seventies line-up for this summer, and what better way to introduce a little bit of boho to your wardrobe than with a kimono. Easy-peasy, right?

Leave it to Etro to totally sum up the romantic, folk-inspired vibe that we all really want to wear come holiday time, but how do we wear it in our everyday life, I hear you cry? Believe us, you can take the Seventies trend from the beach to the office in one fail-safe swoop. You need the kimono in your life. Believe us, it's all in the simple styling tricks to make sure you channel more boho babe and less beach bum!

Fear not, we have it covered…

The One Size Fits All...

Our new favourite brand The Jetset Diaries is full of fun flirty pieces perfect for summer. Kaftans, playsuits and kimonos galore, this is one new collection that has stolen our hearts. If the short, fringed kimonos are not really your thing, embrace the long and billowing style. Note how the sleeves finish on your forearm for the most flattering look, finish with a armful of bangles. Yes, this is perfect for lounging by the pool, but equally works well in the city with a skirt, skinny denim or culottes.

The Investment...

Athena Procopiou has been on our radar for a while, known for her beautiful bold prints and mega fringing in her collection, plus her Instagram is dreamy. As soon as you try a piece on, you feel happy. Ideas of swanning around on a deserted beach soon follow, that will be the Instagram inspo coming through then.

But it's exactly the kind of feeling you want in your wardrobe all year round. The collections, designed in London and made in Italy, have a holiday feel about them, but once you've invested in one of Athena's pieces, you'll want to wear it again and again.

Teamed with a denim flare(very this season, FYI), a neutral peasant blouse and a chunky wedge, you'll have the hippy look sewn up no matter the weather. Take it to the beach, teamed with minimal accessories and a plain block-coloured bikini in similar colour family, and let the kimono do the talking.

Your New Office Uniform…

…should definitely include this Kimono from the new Autograph collection at Marks & Spencer. Yes, you can wear kimonos to the office when they look this chic. Keep an eye out for Japanese-inspired details – they totally lend themselves to a boardroom rather than the beach when they are free of fringing, and more minimal in style and cut like this white one. Wear with a skinny sweater underneath, anything bulky will add unflattering curves.

The One That Screams Designer...

Fash-pack favourite Free People is our go-to for all things boho. Super-cool pieces that are girly but with a tomboy edge have us drooling over the collection each season. With a big selection of kimonos, this floral printed one has a great designer look, but at a much more purse-friendly option. Replace your slouchy cardigan and leather leggings with a kimono and boyfriend denim for the perfect weekend attire. It's our new perfect pairing. Add a chunky ankle boot and you have the ultimate transeasonal outfit. Try a roll neck layered underneath to beat the spring chill.

The Ultimate Wedding Cover Up

Wedding season is coming up and with it the age-old conundrum of how to look like your stylish self. Try replacing your usual wedding cover-up– insert pashmina, sparkly bolero, blazer in here – and go for a kimono instead. This pretty floral one from Rabens Saloner is the prettiest we've seen. The lack of fringing and the fact that it's knee-length means it's easy to style up for a glam occasion. Wear with a dress that is the same length or shorter for the most flattering look.
