This A-lister is apparently who Katy Perry wrote ‘I Kissed A Girl’ about

And we can’t believe it…

And we can’t believe it…

It has been nine years since Katy Perry’s very first number one, I Kissed A Girl, hit the charts and until recently it wasn’t public knowledge who the ‘girl’ in question was that Katy was singing about.

Miley Cyrus cleared up all the confusion however, recently revealing in an interview that she was in fact the subject of the hit song. Yes, really.

During the interview on 103.5KTU’s Cubby and Carolina in the Morning, Miley explained how she and Katy have known each other for a long time, and that she was actually the ‘girl’ referenced in Katy Perry’s number one hit.

‘She’s been a friend of mine for a really long time,’ explained Miley. ‘We were actually just realising the other day that next year, we’ll have been friends for 10 years. I think that’s my friend that I’ve known the longest, which is really, really weird.’

Miley continued: ‘When she came out with I Kissed a Girl, I was doing the Hannah Montana Movie, and I heard her on the radio, and they said, “Who’d you write that about?” And she said me.’

‘And I was on a four-wheeler’, Miley went on to explain. ‘We had a radio attached to the four-wheeler. I heard it and started screaming and freaking out.’

The 24-year-old singer also opened up about her famous music video for her number one hit, Wrecking Ball, in a recent interview on the Zach Sang Show.

‘That’s something you can’t take away. Swinging around naked on a wrecking ball lives forever,’ she explained. ‘I’m never living that down. I will always be the naked girl on a wrecking ball. I should have thought how long that was going to have to follow me around. That’s my worst nightmare, that being played at my funeral.’
