Queen of catwalk beauty, makeup artist Pat McGrath, has collaborated with Max Factor and the Star Wars franchise on a new cosmetics collection, due to launch alongside the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens film in December.

As Max Factor’s Global Creative Design Director, Pat’s always pushing the boundaries of what beauty can be, and we are seriously obsessed with her light versus dark concept.

Whetting our appetites early, Max Factor unveiled two stunning shots of Pat’s 'Droid' and 'Stormtrooper' looks and, while each is totally dramatic, we’re suddenly feeling excited for high-shine cheekbones and metallic eyes.

‘Droid was inspired by C-3PO and I wanted her to look beautiful, with strong gold eyes and gold lips,’ said Pat.

‘Stormtrooper is a soldier, so this makeup look is intercut with a graphic eye. The look is structured with a very dark berry lip.’

For those not quite ready to go the whole C-3PO, Pat’s also got some more subtle tips for how to work the look on a Saturday night.

‘Metallics are popular again this season and fit perfectly with the film,’ she says. ‘Take some risks and have fun with a gold or silver lip look.’

The range will reportedly contain 19 products, including gold and silver lipsticks, highlighters, nail polishes and six limited-edition mascaras.

‘The partnership between @starwars and @maxfactor gave @patmcgrathreal the opportunity to give us her version of A Driod using the limited @maxfactor#starwars make-up collection,’ Max Factor’s Caroline Barnes wrote on the brand’s Instagram.

‘This look was inspired by C-3PO Pat said she wanted to design something beautiful with gold on the eyes and lips.#eugenesoloman created the hair textures and wigs and the combination is really powerful. I personally love the softeness of the gold against the contrast of the combed white and gold hair.’
