And it’s lovely.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot last weekend at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in quite possibly the most touching (and star-studded) ceremony in history.

But it wasn’t Meghan Markle’s stunning Givenchy dress or the royal wedding guests that got the world talking this week, as the couple released their official royal wedding photographs.

Kensington Royal’s Instagram account released three official photos from the big day, and while fans could spot tributes to Princess Diana in the family shots, the photo that got the most attention was of the couple alone.

Smiling in each other’s arms on the steps of Windsor Castle, the couple looked happier than they ever had, prompting fans to question what it was that they were laughing about during the shoot.

Official photographer of both the engagement and wedding photographs, Alexi Lubomirski, has recently opened up about the topic, explaining what happened behind the scenes of the iconic black and white portrait.

‘It was just one of those magical moments, when you’re a photographer and everything falls into place,’ he explained. ‘The sun is setting right just over the top of Windsor Castle just behind them, it was just the most serene, beautiful light, they're in love, walking around this beautiful garden.’

‘I said just before you go in, let's sit down on these stairs,’ he recalled. ‘And she just slumped in between his legs. They were just laughing because they were joking about how they were exhausted and finally it was over.’

Well it definitely makes for a stunning photograph.

Congratulations again to the now Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
