Hollywood actress and red-carpet regular Rosario Dawson has revealed her latest ethical fashion range – created with Studio One Eighty Nine (the social enterprise of which she is co-founder, alongside childhood friend Abrima Erwiah). 

Dawson’s spring/summer 2015 collection, sold exclusively on yoox.com, features unique prints on clothes made entirely of cotton. The capsule collection, with prices starting from £50, (click through gallery above to see collection images) is composed of 17 pieces including shirts, dresses, tops and accessories for both men and women. The artisanal prints used for their garments are all handmade and inspired by African culture – produced by local artisans of Ghana. 

Studio One Eighty Nine is a beneficial project set up by Rosario and Abrima to promote and curate African and African-inspired content, focusing on empowerment, creating workforce, supporting education and skills training. With the concept of building a fairer fashion industry by creating artisan-produced collections. 

Dawson, 35, says, 'You know that each piece because it is handmade is a piece of art in itself.'

Yoox.com's previous exclusive collaborations have included eco-designer Livia Firth and actress Amber Valetta.
