The eponymous fashion house will be launching fragrances for men and women, after signing a deal with Procter & Gamble
Alexander McQueen is to launch its first fragrance in almost a decade, it has been confirmed.
The famous fashion house has signed a deal with Procter & Gamble to release both men’s and women’s scents, and plans to begin work on the project ‘immediately’.
McQueen Creative Director Sarah Burton cited the move as a ‘natural progression’ for the brand, and revealed she is ‘very excited’ about the launch.
‘Creating a fragrance feels like a natural progression as it enhances the world of Alexander McQueen,’ she said in a statement yesterday.
‘I’m very excited by this opportunity to collaborate with P&G Prestige, to work together to create a scent that captures the unique sensibility of the house.’
P&G’s vice president Luigi Feola said Burton will play a ‘significant role’ in the development of the scent, adding: ‘We believe it’s probably the most prominent brand that is not yet playing in the luxury beauty market’.
Although a launch date for the fragrances is yet to be confirmed, it’s thought work will begin asap.
We’re. So. Excited.
