Unlikely front-row stars
Mickey Rourke gets the paps all aflutter in NYC
Mickey Rourke gets the paps all aflutter in NYC
You tend to get quite blase about celebrities at Fashion Week. After a while Mischa Barton, Emmy Rossum and Blake Lively all start to look like one and the same, and rather than strain your neck to get a better view at their shoes, the hardened fashion hacks are more likely to start muttering about them holding up the show.
Still, there are a few stars left able to cause genuine excitement, although who'd have thought Mickey Rourke counted as one of them?
The Wrestler star caused quite the stir when he turned up at Max Azria today, with the paps ignoring all the pretty little starlets in attendance in favour of getting as many snaps of greasy-haired Mickey as they could.
Pictures aside, I'd have paid good money to hear what he and Estelle, who'd been seated beside him, found of common interest to talk about.
And what did Mickey think of the show itself? 'I liked it because it's stuff you can really wear,' he apparently told New York magazine. 'Even girls with a big ass and big tits canwear those clothes. You know what I'm saying?' Erm, no, not really, Mickey.
