It's that time of year again, when the fash pack descends on New York city for the latest round of shows. Here's our pick of the best beauty looks from the SS17 straight off the runway.
New York Fashion Week SS17 is well-underway and there's a whole host of new beauty looks and trends from the latest round of shows in NYC. This SS17 we’ve seen everything from Snapchat filter makeup, to a two-tone red lip look and flawless ‘I woke up like this’ skin.
We’ve been backstage at the shows checking out all the latest makeup and beauty trends and will be updating this as they happen. So keep scrolling as we introduce you to the best beauty looks fresh off the catwalk....
Desigual
This SS17 at the Desigual show makeup artist Gordon Espinet tapped into our latest social media obsession, the worryingly addictive Snapchat beauty filters. Five models walked the runway as some of the most recognisable filters included the flower crown (our fave), the dog and the deer. These playful beauty looks contrasted against the other models who were baring it all with simple, flawless #NoFilter skin.
Prabal Gurung
Spotted at Prabal backstage this fierce beauty look was created by Diane Kendal for MAC. The powerful attitudes of women like Gloria Steinham and Tracey Emin inspired the look, which was strong but also feminine. Soft, sunkissed rosey cheeks contrasted against the powerful black liner which was smudged out along the lower lash-line.
Cushnie et Ochs
Two-tone lips were the beauty look of the moment at Cushnie et Ochs this New York fashion week. The top lip a classic red and the bottom are popping pink shade. This is the perfect beauty look if you feel like switching it up but are nervous of straying from a tried and tested red. So, ease yourself into a new beauty trend this season with a multi-tonal lipstick look.
Baja East
Makeup was a roughed up type of sexy eye at Baja East this season. Eyeliner was heavy and smudged out under the lower lash line and a gloss used on the lid up to the crease while skin was kept simple and dewy looking.
Rebecca Minkoff
On the Rebecca Minkoff catwalk we spotted another eye focused beauty look. The inspiration behind the look this season was all about a carefree, girl on-the-go. The smokey eye was deliberately meant to be relaxed and not quite perfect but achievable enough to recreate at home.
Victoria Beckham
Makeup mega-star Pat McGrath created 3 different looks for Victoria Beckham’s SS17 show using Victoria’s own makeup range with Estee Lauder. All of the models have beautiful luminous skin and lightly groomed brows with the focus on the eye. Blue, green or nude the look whichever of the looks the models had, each was non-geometrical and abstract. The blue eyes (seen here) were applied with fingers, the green shade with brush and the nude eye was a mix of two different shades; a soft brown and a taupey colour creating 3 very different styles.
