The online pornography site is giving a $25,000 college scholarship through their charity branch, Pornhub Cares
One of the world’s biggest porn websites is offering a student in the US a $25,000 college scholarship.
Pornhub have just announced that they are looking to reward an exceptional individual who goes out of their way to make others happy.
'We work hard to help make millions of people feel happy every single day,' says the website.
'In turn, we would like to help support the recipient of the first annual Pornhub Cares Scholarship to realise their goal of doing the same.'
'We’re looking for standout, compelling examples of students who pay it forward.'
Interested students are asked to write a 1000-1500 word essay answering: 'How do you strive to make others happy?' as well as a two minute video that elaborates on the work that they do.
Sexual videos will not be considered, but videos featuring nudity will not be disqualified.
Applicants must be 18 or over, currently enrolled at a higher education facility and have a 3.2 Grade Point Average (the equivalent of a 2:1 in the UK).
Pornhub Cares is the philanthropic branch of the online porn site’s business and they’ve previously donated to cancer research and environmental charities.
Controversial as it may seem, Pornhub are breaking a lot of rules when it comes to perceptions of what pornographers are.
Their Insights branch takes the data they gather from their billions of hits, analyses it and creates rather interesting reports on topics such as porn habits by geographical area, age and gender.
Earlier this year they announced plans to break into the wearable tech market with the invention of the Wankband – a bracelet users wear while masturbating, that turns those furious hand motions into energy.
