New book 'Fifty Shades of Mr Darcy' parodies the successful erotic novels

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice leading man Mr Darcy is the latest literary hero to undergo a Fifty Shades of Grey style transformation.

Fifty Shades of Mr Darcy is a parody of the successful erotic series which invites readers into Mr Darcy's 'blue broom cupboard of seriously kinky s**t'.

The parody mash-up of classic literature with 'mummy porn' looks set to delight both readers of comedy novels and fans of the raunchy trilogy when it hits the shelves on August 30.

MEET THE WRITER OF THE NEW 50 SHADES

The book includes dialogue from Elizabeth Bennett's 'inner slapper' as well as her desires to turn him away from his interests in 'handcuffs, golden showers and fisting' to a more wholesome world of 'découpage, shell collecting, lacework, needlepoint and harpsichord rituals' in order to save his 'damaged soul'.

Of course the novel includes saucy scenes involving Elizabeth being thrashed by a riding whip and being tied to Mr Darcy's four-poster bed.

Marian Keyes, it isn't.

Fifty Shades of Grey recently became the best-selling book in the UK of all time, even overtaking the Highway Code.
