Marie Claire’s Deputy Editor Charlotte Moore played host to our brilliant ‘How to get into Business’ event on Wednesday. The bad weather didn’t seem to phase our readers 100 of them came along to Marie Claire HQ to listen to our expert panel.
After sipping on champagne and enjoying some nibbles CEO and founder of cult beauty brand nails inc, Thea Green kicked off the presentation talking about her career journey and how she came up with the idea for a UK-based nail bar.
During the 12 years since nails inc was founded Thea has single headedly developed the brand from one London based nail bar, into a brand with a £21 million annual turnover.
Karen Gill co-founder of everywoman, the UK’s largest business network for women, was on hand to discuss the importance of networking to grow your business. She also highlighted the importance of looking after your staff, and making sure that you hire people who have strengths in areas where you are weak to make for the strongest possible workforce.
