Emma Watson revealed the exciting Beauty and The Beast news via her Facebook page
Emma Watson is to play Belle in a new live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast - and we don't think we can think of a more perfect actress for the role.
Emma announced the exciting news via her Facebook page:
'I'm finally able to tell you... that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'. My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma xx'
The original Disney animation was released way back in 1991 and was the first animated film to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar. The title song, Beauty and the Beast took home the award for Best Song.
Filming on the new Beauty and the Beast starts later this year and will see Twilight director Bill Condon at the helm.
Now all we need is a suitable Beast...
