'We're not against it… it just doesn't seem necessary' says Angelina on marriage to Brad

Angelina Jolie has revealed that she may never marry Brad Pitt.

In an interview in the October issue of Marie Claire, Angelina admits: 'Brad and I have never discussed it [marriage] in detail, but I would assume – because we both went down that road before – that its not a contract or the ceremony that makes you feel solid.'

Angelina believes it isn't marriage that has cemented her relationship with Brad, but hard graft and raising a family together: 'It's hard work and the exhaustion and the children that really make you solid.'

After the couple decided that they wanted a large family, and before the birth of their biological daughter Shiloh, Angelina reveals: 'All my friends said, "It's going to take an average of six months [to get pregnant]." But it happened on our first try.'

And since then, the couple have made their family their priority. 'I'm in love with Brad as a father,' admits Angelina. 'It's hot, there's nothing sexier than a man who is a great father.

'He's a great combination of what I think a father needs to be: he's very strong, he's a caretaker who will teach them right from wrong. You can tell, just the way the children miss him, that they love Daddy.'

Angelina is set to star next month in A Mighty Heart about the real-life events of US journalist Daniel Pearl's life and death.

For her next project the actress decided to take on a lighter subject and will star in action film Wanted. Angelina reveals she has been stressed out, less fit and skinnier than she'd like to be, so this project is the perfect opportunity to 'get strong and do something that was not serious.'
