    Booking our visit ASAP

We may have recently discovered the hottest holiday destinations of 2017, but sometimes nothing beats taking a long weekend away and exploring a new city not too far from home. We've even round up the best uk road trips to take for a quick and easy escape from your every day life - and what better way to make the most of your bank holiday weekend next time one comes around, hey?

If you fancy doing just that one weekend then we'd highly recommend making Brighton the first stop on your city break destination road map. Come rain or shine, you'll never find yourself bored when visiting this gorgeous little seaside town based in East Sussex. Heck, it's no wonder it was once voted the 'happiest place to live in the UK' - and after visiting the city ourselves it's certainly become our of our most desirable places to live in the UK.

    Why go to Brighton?

What more could you want from a city than sun, sea and first class shopping? And Brighton has it all, and more! It's therefore no surprise that over 7.5 million (yes million) day visitors were attracted the seaside town between 2015 and 2016, with just under 5 million of those staying overnight to soak up more of that healthy seaside air - making Brighton the number one destination in the UK for overseas tourists. So you better book your hotel reservation ASAP!

Over the years Brighton has become renowned for it's infamous pier, packed full of rides and attractions - making it the perfect day out for the family. The pier is conveniently located just a stone's throw away (see what we did there) next to Brighton's signature pebbled beach, which was named one of the 'top 10 best city beaches' by Lonely Planet. And here's another fun fact for you - there are an estimated 614, 600, 000 pebbles on Brighton's beach, not that you'll want to go and count them all to check.

There's more to Brighton than just it's seaside spectacular though, for those of you who fancy hitting the shops make sure you visit Brighton's Lanes. Tourists from high and low travel to Brighton just to get lost in Brighton's Lanes, packed full of vintage shops and the best of the best jewellery shops you'll find entwined in a maze like structure that will literally leave you shopping till you drop.

Still not sold? Also make sure to check out Brighton's Sea Life Centre, The Royal Pavilion, and Hove's vibrant beach huts whilst you're there. Oh and it's definitely worth taking a ride on the British Airways 1360 tower, which will take you to heights of 450ft and allow you to enjoy a spectacular 360 degree view of Brighton.

    Stay here

Wouldn't it be great if there was a hotel that had Brighton's beach on it's doorstep and access to the shopping lanes and Brighton's buzzing nightlife on it's backdoor step? Meet the Jury's Inn Brighton Waterfront Hotel, which conveniently has just this. With gorgeous sea views and access to the beach and the shops literally just a few minutes away, the Jury's Inn is based right in the heart of this seaside town and only 15 minutes from Brighton station.

When you aren't out painting the cobbles red, why not treat yourself to a bit of down time in the Jury Inn's beautiful beauty treatment room? The hotel's health and leisure centre also features a divine swimming pool, a fully equipped gym and a steam room and sauna - at this rate you're not going to want to leave the hotel.

Of course it's not just about pampering yourself, make sure to enjoy a meal and the sea view offered at the Waterfront Inn bar during your stay. Be it breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a cheeky afternoon sea themed tea (doesn't the below just look amazing) it's definitely a must do before you check out.

    The food

Call us simple, but if you're spending a weekend in Brighton then you really ought to treat yourself to a classic fish and chip supper from the Pier on Brighton's cobbled shores at least once - especially if the weather permits it. Brighton is also becoming know for it's up and coming pub and bar scene, so it's definitely worth hitting the high street later in the evening and doing a bit of a bar crawl - especially if cocktails are you thing!

    Don't miss

One for you chocolate lovers now, if there's absolutely one you thing to do whilst you're in Brighton it's to take a trip to chocccywoccydoodah situated in the Lanes. Spoil yourself in a world that Willy Wonka himself couldn't dream up, with a cafe upstairs filled with cakes, ice cream, shakes, chocolate dipping pots and more and a shop downstairs to purchase treats for yourself (or loved ones) you really can get lost in this chocolate filled heaven.

So, have you booked your train ticket yet?
