When it comes to designer style at high street prices, this week isn't all about Jimmy Choo for H&M. For yummy mummies, Stella McCartney's kidswear collection for Gap is even more exciting than the prospect of affordable killer heels and handbags.

Due to land in stores on 2 November, we got a sneak peak at the first photos from the ad campaign this morning and, can you tell you right now, it's going to be a sell-out hit.

With an impressive 70 designs in the collection, created in partnership with GapKids and babyGap, Stella's certainly but her all into the line.

'I guess I tackled it in the same way I would one of my own ready-to-wear collections,' Stella told WWD, 'but then the challenge was, "OK, I've got to get into the same mind-set of a kid and what they might like."'

The mother of three, added: 'It's quite a good thing to have kids when you're designing a kids' collection, to be aware that they actually have their own point of view.'

Many of the boys' pieces, including a superhero-printed T-shirt were approved by Stella's own boys, while the girls' designs show more than a passing resemblance to Stella's grown-up collections, including faded silk party dresses and tulle skirts. There's even an exact mini replica of one of the jumper dresses from her autumn/winter 2009 ready-to-wear runway show.

Fabrics include organic cotton and soft cashmere, and, in keeping with the designer's vegetarian principles, none of the shoes feature any leather components.

For those of us without children, we're thinking of borrowing some next month just as a good excuse to go shopping!
