  • Billie Piper admits motherhood is toughest role yet

Billie Piper has admitted being a new mum has left her more exhausted than she thought possible.

Three months after giving birth to son Winston, the actress admits that she and her husband Laurence Fox are still struggling to snooze.

Billie tells the new issue of Hello! magazine: ‘I had absolutely no idea how tiring being a mum was – or how hard mums have to work.

‘I have worked some sh**ty hours in my life, but these are the toughest I’ve ever had.’

She added: ‘He’s a restless sleeper.

‘He gives us hope, then he changes his routine.’

But, despite the lack of sleep, the Secret Diary of a Call Girl star says she’s relishing being a mum, too, describing having Winston as like ‘gaining a best friend for life’.

She said: ‘That feeling of unconditional love. I used to think it was so cheesy when people said that before, but it’s something I finally understand. The smiling… it’s amazing.’

And, although we think she already looks fantastic, the star says she’ll be embarking on a beat-the-baby-bulge plan soon.

She revealed: ‘I am going to start. The diet, the regime – it will start. It will be quite intense. It’s boring and hellish, I’m sure, but if you’ve got to bare your a**e on TV, you don’t want it to look bad.’

Billie, Laurence and Winston have just returned from a holiday in Miami where they stayed at the exclusive Shore Club.

The family also made a pit-stop in LA, where Billie spent a few days promoting Call Girl, which starts showing in America this week.
