Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

Christmas just isn’t complete without a visit to Winter Wonderland – a positively dazzling day out with beautiful chalet style stalls that you can wonder around for hours. It’s not just shopping though, with The Magical Ice Kingdom, impressive fairground, breathtaking circus, and winter ice rink – you can rest assured you’ll be in full Christmas mode by the time you leave. If you’re out for the night, head to the Bavarian village for beers aplenty or if you’re looking for a more civilised evening, Mr Fogg’s pop up bar for cocktails and mulled wines.

Back in 2015 with a new name, this annual festive market is situated along the Thames – with gorgeous views of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. All 35 stalls will be decked out with rich green wreaths and delicate fairy lights, creating a magical atmosphere to get lost in this December. Stocked full of handmade goods, it’s the perfect spot for picking up a gift for the foodie or creative in your life. Think hand-made jewllrey, alpaca wool clothing, Snowdonia cheese and chocolate kisses. Yum.

Running throughout the whole of December – Winterville is one festive little town that’s bound to deliver an unforgettable experience. Collaborating with some of the best talent Europe has to offer, there is something for everyone – from comedy shows and stylish cabaret to an array of live music and family pantomimes (and a family rave event).
Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival with NatWest
Southbank Centre, SE1 8XX

Taking place around the riverfront, highlights include the finest food producers, bespoke design and craft collectives, a spectacular art installation and a magical Christmas tree maze. If your feet need a break from all that shopping – take a ride on the Southbank Centre Express Train that runs along the river. Bliss.
