There's snow feeling quite like this
Turns out we're not the only ones hooked on the Winter Olympics, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have been watching, too, and today turned out an entire D&G collection inspired by the cold white stuff.
With their runway decked out like a pristine Alpine chalet and the girls sporting ski goggles (crystal-embellished, of course) and big furry boots, the whole event was like a super-styled version of Vancover 2010 (minus the beefed-up ice hockey players).
For a fashionable day on the slopes, the D&G boys turned out sexy fair-isle bodysuits and chunky cable-knit scarves, while for the après ski, little velvet tunics, sheer pussy-bow blouses and dresses (many sporting chic knit-pattern prints) and satin bloomers are guaranteed to keep temperatures well above zero.
Meanwhile, for those of us without a holiday home in Whistler, the chunky grey jumper dresses, fabulous coat-igans and variety of tux jackets are going to be great additions to our winter wardrobes (and guaranteed to be ripped off by the high street in a matter of weeks).
Suddenly the prospect of another winter white-out next year doesn't sound quite so bad after all.
