SJP calls Nina Ricci 'unethical' for allowing her to wear dress previously worn by Lindsay Lohan

Sarah Jessica Parker has spoken of her anger at discovering the Nina Ricci gown she wore for the New York SATC premiere had been worn before.

It looks unlikely that the actress will be wearing Nina Ricci again after she revealed that designer Olivier Theyskens had assured her during a fitting that she was the first to step out in the metallic silver frock.

Speaking to the New York Times, the Sex and the City star described how both she and her stylist asked Theyskens directly if anyone had worn and been photographed in the dress. To this he said no.

SJP wore the gown to the premiere, but then swiftly discovered that not only had it been worn before, but Theysken had accompanied socialite Lauren Santo Domingo to the MET's Costume Institute Gala in the very same gown. Lindsay Lohan had also been photographed in the dress earlier this year.

'He didn’t say, ‘Well, actually I just escorted Lauren down the red carpet at the Met.' Parker described of her conversation with the designer. 'I just wish it had been handled differently and they had been straight about it.'

She has since commented, 'My affection for the dress hasn't changed, but what they did was so short-sighted. It's just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again.
