It's the event we've all been waiting for. After an amazing 15 year build up, the London 2012 Olympics are about to begin. And we could not be more excited. As London prepares for the big event, which takes place between 27 July and 12 August, a whopping 10,000 athletes have already begun to descend on the capital. With a sparkling new 500 acre Olympic Zone, which includes the Olympic stadium, Aquatic centre and Velodrome (among other venues), and many other centres dotted around London, the capital's sporting facilites sure are a sight to behold. And with Oscar-winner Danny Boyle planning an opening ceremony to end all opening ceremonies to get the Olympics off to a sizzling start, we're sure London 2012 will be better than ever. Let the games begin!
