Denim trends are changing the way we think about jeans, shirts and jackets. Our favourite fabric receieves a style overhaul this season, and you need to know about the updates...
Denim is looking hotter than ever for summer.
From high street fashion favourite Zara’s slim-fit flares to Saint Laurent’s festival-ready thigh-skimming mini skirt with fringing – there is so much on offer this season.
On the catwalks, Stella McCartney championed retro-wash dresses, while Chloe broke all the rules, offering up 70s-style skirts and wide leg overalls.
Pinafores are totally creeping up our lust list at the moment thanks to MihJeans. Layer with a long-sleeved Breton tee for a sophisticated Riviera vibe or go bare during warmer climes.
Classic shirts will forever be a denim wardrobe staple and for SS16 we’re tucking ours into a pair or black flares. Isabel Marant Etoile’s mid-wash style has really caught our eye and Zara’s dark button-up is something we know we’ll be able to recycle year after year.
Want to nail a couple of trends in one? Invest in a 70s-inspired denim jumpsuit. We’ll be teaming Madewell’s version with a slick of bright lipstick and a pair of platform sandals.
Dungarees are one of our favourite denim pieces right now and we’re going to be stopping by Frame Denim come pay day to pick up ours.
Anyone who keeps a close eye on all the latest runway activity will be well aware that maxi skirts are totally having a moment. Mango’s creation is ideal for anyone who’s keen to embrace the look.
To give you a little inspiration, we’ve edited all the best buys, whatever your budget.
