The internet is going wild over this teacher's 'no homework' announcement

We're down for this

We're down for this

Oh, to be a student again. Finishing ‘work’ at 15.10, chips and cheese on repeat and spending your days hanging with your BFF’s and learning about rhombi… oh yeah, and homework.

Why, after a taxing six-hour day (minus one hour for lunch. And 20 mins for break…) would we want to come home to learn MORE? Well, it looks like one clued-up teacher from Texas knows the score, and is in line to become the most popular teacher of all time after posting her new ‘homework policy’.*

Originally posted to Facebook, before going viral on Reddit, the announcement was uploaded by Samantha Gallagher, a local elementary teacher from Fort Worth, Texas and reads:

‘After much research this summer, I am trying something new. Homework will only consist of work that your student did not finish during the school day. There will be no formally assigned homework this year.

‘Research had been unable to prove that homework improves student performance, Rather, I ask that you spend your evenings doing things that are proven to correlate with student success. Eating dinner as a family, read together, play outside, and get your child to bed early.’

We wish we had a Miss Gallagher at our school.
