The exhausted comedian raised a whopping £1 million during the charity challenge
Stepping out of the water on to the London’s Southbank, the Little Britain star was clapped and cheered by celebrity pals Miranda Hart, Barbara Windsor and Lenny Henry, as well as hoards of delighted onlookers.
Speaking of his epic, weeklong water adventure – which saw him battle aches, pains and ‘Thames Tummy’ to swim for up to 12 hours a day – he said he was ‘OK, a bit tired.’
And the funny man was quick to praise ‘generous’ fans – who pledged a whopping £1.1 million to Sport Relief during the eight days of his challenge.
‘What took me by surprise was the support,’ he revealed as he recovered from the swim.
‘It made me really proud to be British. It’s tough times and people have been so generous with their time and money.’
