What fired your ambition to start your own business? I’ve always been obsessed with clothes and while working in finance, I recognised the need to design a wardrobe for women in the city that was fashionable and feminine, but still abided by the 'rules' of businesswear. Being a mother with a full-time job, I saw a gap in the market for fashionable work wear that takes you from day to night.

What’s the best careers advice that you’ve been given? Watch your cash flow every week, if not every day. New businesses eat cash for breakfast.
What makes a good mentor? Whatever industry you want to be in, align yourself to someone who is going places. They can mentor you and introduce you to the movers and shakers. I don’t believe in the glass ceiling – it’s all about making things work for you.
