It's official - we're in the throes of Middleton mania. According to a new survey, one in three Brits would like the Queen to abdicate in the next two years, making way for Prince William and Kate Middleton to become monarchs.
The Panelbase survey of 2,000 people also found that two thirds of us are in favour of doing away with convention to allow Wills and Kate to bypass Charles and Camilla and take the throne.

Many of us, it seems, feel that the monarchy is in need of an injection of youth, with young women being the greatest supporters of change. A whopping 78 per cent of 18-34 year olds believe that Kate and Wills would be better suited to being King and Queen.
