Next season's cult bag is already on every fashion editor's wishlist

Launching on Net-A-Porter soon

There was the Cult Gaia Ark bamboo bag, then the STAUD Moreau and Shirley bags of last season. Now next season's cult bag has just been unveiled by Net-A-Porter, and it's already top of every fashion editor's wishlist, including mine.

It comes courtesy of Trademark, a New York accessories brand from Tory Burch's step-daughters Pookie and Louisa Burch, and ticks two major trends for AW18: vintage and faux croc.

The bucket bag style features a chic stamp croc finish and comes in a glossy brown, which is another big trend forecast by NAP for next season.

Lisa Aiken, Fashion Director at Net-A-Porter, explains, 'It's the faux croc effect, it's vintage with a contemporary twist. We had the STAUD croc bag which sold out within 5 days, and we firmly believe that this Trademark one is the next it bag.'

The brand has actually been on the site for two seasons, but thanks to a lower 'mid-range designer' price point, it's about to attract a new cult following, joining ranks with the likes of STAUD, Rixo, Ganni and other contemporary brands.

And this bag is going to seal the deal for sure when it launches in August, it will retail at £325. Keep the date in your diary, because this one won't be around for long.

Penny Goldstone

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
