Pintsized popstral Kylie Minogue has spoken out about her heartbreaking yearlong battle with breast cancer, revealing her grueling stints of chemotherapy may have cost her the chance to have children.

The star – who is currently dating Spanish model Andres Velencoso was diagnosed with the disease back in 2005, and put her music career on hold to undergo lifesaving treatment.

Now fully back to heath, Kylie has spoken out about surviving the illness, and how the intensive treatment means motherhood is probably now out of reach.

‘You have to accept the good and bad in life and I have to be honest and accept that after everything I’ve been through – the treatment for breast cancer – I may not actually be able to conceive,’ the 42-year-old told the Daily Mail.

‘I would absolutely love to have children but I just don’t think it’s going to happen and that’s OK because I’m well and I can enjoy the children around me,’ she said, referring to sister Dannii’s tiny tot Ethan.

'Having a serious illness like that really teaches you about yourself,’ she added.

‘One thing I realised is that you’re still the same person at the end. You’re stripped down to near zero but you come out the other end feeling more like yourself than ever.’
