Ms Middleton completed the race in a very 'impressive' time but was beaten by her younger brother, James Middleton
While most of us tucked into a Sunday roast or indulged in a Saturday night curry this weekend, Pippa Middleton put us to shame by hitting the slopes in Sweden to take part in a 56-mile cross-country ski marathon.
Kate Middleton‘s sister took on the challenge with her brother, James Middleton, and finished the demanding course in a very ‘impressive’ seven hours, 13 minutes and 36 seconds.
The 28-year-old, who had never done any cross-country skiing before, joined 15,800 other competitors for the gruelling race.
Pippa finished the marathon 26 minutes behind her brother and when asked if she minded, she replied: ‘No, that was probably fair.’
She went to say that while she had ‘never really skied cross-country before,’ she and James, 23, had done lots of ‘fitness training’ in the UK as well as several weekends skiing in Switzerland.
Per Strid, a spokesman for the Vasaloppet race, said: ‘I must congratulate Pippa – she had a fantastic performance. What she achieved was really impressive for a first timer. She was obviously very fit and in very good shape.’
The Middletons were raising money for the Magic Breakfast charity, which provides a pre-school meal to poor inner-city children in the UK.
So far they have raised nearly £7,500 for the cause.
Well done, guys!
