And we can’t deal

Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston got married in 2015, three years after announcing their engagement, but aside from a few Instagram snaps, they kept the intimate ceremony secret.

Justin, however, recently opened up about the ceremony in an interview with Entertainment Tonight while promoting his HBO series, The Leftovers, earlier this week.

When the topic of Dave Franco and Alison Brie’s secret wedding came up in conversation, Justin exclaimed, ‘I just found out about that, I didn’t know that that had happened. Congrats to him, good for him for making it private.’

‘It’s so much more special when it’s just your closest friends and family and it’s lovely’, he explained. '[Aniston and I] wanted it to be a peaceful environment, you don’t want it to be hectic.’

Justin and Jen got hitched at their Bel Air home in 2015, with the beautiful alfresco ceremony boasting a star-studded guest list from Ellen Degeneres, Portia de Rossi and Sandra Bullock to Tobey Maguire, Jimmy Kimmel, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. Not to mention, some of her Friends co-stars were of course in attendance, including Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.

Justin’s sweet comments about his 2015 wedding aren’t the only things giving us husband goals this month, with the actor also recently opening up about how he celebrated his wife’s birthday this February.

Talking to E! News, Justin explained how he whisked Jen off to Cabo with close friends Courteney Cox and her partner Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid to help Jen celebrate her 48th birthday in style.

‘We do special things. I did a little night for her birthday where we went to a special dinner and had a piñata’, he explained, and when asked what he put in the Mexican papier-mâché game, he joked ‘what are you going to put in it? Kale? She doesn’t eat candy!’

As if these two couldn’t get even sweeter, Justin has even spoken about his plans to write a script for his wife in the future. ‘If the right thing came around I would definitely [write] it. We toss around ideas occasionally, but it’s got to be something that I want to write and something she wants to act in, which is harder than you might think. But yeah, it would be fantastic if we were able to do something together.’
