Sochi 2014 medal hopeful Shelley Rudman wasn’t always the world champion she can proudly claim to be now. Just like anyone she found herself pondering her future in the midst of serious setbacks.

It fell on the shoulders of her mother Josie to persuade her doubting daughter to continue honing her craft as a skeleton competitor – and, two world titles later, it’s safe to say she did a fantastic job!
