Kerry Parnell

Kerry Parnell is a freelance journalist and editor who writes for British and Australian newspapers and magazines. Based in Kent, she covers a wide range of news and features, including penning a weekly opinion column in The Sunday Telegraph, Australia, writing travel stories for Escape.com.au and royal content for News Corp Australia.

As well as royal and other features for Marie Claire, Kerry contributes to titles including The Sunday Times Magazine, The Times and The Telegraph.

Before going freelance Kerry worked on many leading newspapers and magazines, including head of lifestyle for Sydney’s The Telegraph, launch editor of Australian Glamour, executive editor of Marie Claire Australia, acting editor of Red and deputy editor of UK Glamour from launch. One of her first – and still the best – jobs though, was way back in the heyday of teen magazines, as editor of Bliss. If pushed, she can still whip up a quiz that will reveal if he really does fancy you. She also authored two teenage self-help books, The Smart Girl’s Guide To Sex and StreetSmart.

With 25 years in newspapers and women’s magazines, Kerry loves discovering great stories that resonate with readers. In her spare time, she co-produces royal newsletter The Royal List.
